First Meal in Paris

I can't believe it's been months since we landed in Paris and didn't even feel like I had been on a plane long enough to experience it yet. (I popped 2 Advil PM at take off and was out like a light for the entire flight.) Once we checked into our hotel, it was time for food, fast! So our concierge recommended L'Estrapade.
We walked in, not able to speak any French, and found a tiny room with 6 or 7 small tables. A dog was curled up under one of the tables, and the owner, whose name was Mark, came out of the kitchen to greet and seat us. Here are the photos from our lunch!
The very sweet pup!

A divine steak
The food was served on slate that came from another region of France. The smells and ambiance set the scene for a wonderful trip, which you all know we had. Take me back to Paris please!

Fun with My Sister in Paris

After climbing the Eiffel Tower, my sister and I took a break to take some fun pictures. I loved laughing and spending time with her in such a beautiful city and landmark.

Eiffel Tower: Part 2

Last week, I posted about the first part of our trip to the Eiffel Tower. So this week you'll get to see the second set of photos on a very hazy day. Let's pretend like we're back in Paris, shall we?

Eiffel Tower: Part 1

Well, let's just say the Eiffel Tower was visited twice on our trip. Both my sister and I had previously been to (and climbed) the Eiffel Tower at night, so we thought that as a family, it would be a good idea. We mapped out our 3 mile walk from the hotel and were off as soon as it was dark.
But when we got to the tower, we learned that in the wintertime you couldn't climb it after 6PM. So we took some pictures and left to find a spot for dinner...

Jardin du Luxembourg

One afternoon, while my younger sister napped, my dad, mom, and I decided to take a walk around the Luxembourg gardens. For those of you who may wonder, I don't have a fancy DSLR camera yet, but I do have this snazzy Canon, which actually lets me pick one color to only show in the pictures (that's how only shoe laces were pink in yesterday's photo). Here are some photos from that afternoon.

Yes, that's a little Statue of Liberty

Sometimes & Always: Europe Sneak Peak

Hello ladies and gents! Ready to see some Europe pictures? Ready for Megan's first link-up? The concept is simple. You say sometimes to something and then say the always version of that. Today's the first day that Megan is doing it, so fingers crossed that tons of you decided to link-up too!

Sometimes: Getting to try lots of new foods in foreign countries is amazing.

Always: American food is home to me.

Sometimes: I wear more stylish shoes to look less like a tourist in Europe.

Always: When I'm walking long distances (like 10 miles a day in Paris), I like my trusty running shoes.

Sometimes: I like to say that I have lots of favorite desserts.

Always: French Macarons in France are my most favorite!

Sometimes: Distance makes the heart grow fonder.

Always:  I miss being away from my sister.

Sometimes: I wonder how I got so lucky with two amazing parents.

Always: I appreciate them and don't say it often enough.

What are you saying sometimes and always about? Go link-up with Megan!
