Starting New, What to Do?

source
It's 2013, so happy new year! But for some reason, I'm in a pickle about it being a whole new year already. I've been reading the Making Things Happen posts about goal setting and reflecting a lot on the question of "what didn't work last year?" And I've realized that a lot didn't work. I conquered a lot and feel like 2012 was a great success, yet here I am trying to make a decision about what 2013 means for me.

2012 brought a lot of change. A whole lot of good. And some bad. 2013 is sure not to disappoint in both good and bad, but I keep asking myself, what do I want to accomplish this year? How do I want to change? How do I want to grow? How do I want to challenge myself? And all I hear are crickets.

I've tossed around the concept of setting 13 concrete goals or tasks, but what would they be? I already am struggling to complete my 25 Before 25 list and only have 4 months left to cross the items off.

Then I hear more crickets who keep chirping, just be, just be, just be. To start the year off right, I'm going to get back to the basics and just be.

So I'm going to head off to the couch to just be snuggled up with M and Louie. More to come on the decisions I'm going to make about 2013 that we'll lead to a better me.

I always think that it's best not to force things... especially goals. When something is meant to be, it'll be.

Until then, go snuggle with your man! that's always the best <3

It think being able to "just be" can/should be one of your goals for 2013! You are a busy woman, and you have a lot going on in your life. The challenges are good for your mind and your soul, but taking some time to just be regularly is so important too! Best of luck with 2013. I think your blog is great. :)

I love it! Setting goals on one day every 365 days isn't very natural. I plan to set them as they come! Living in the moment and striving to be a better person can be a goal in itself!

Sometimes goal setting can be a little overwhelming. Been there. That's when you just have to sit back, breath in and relax. You'll probably find that when you do take a little for yourself, that's when the inspiration starts flowing :)

Happy new year, sweet girl!

Love it. I'm with Amy. Just because a calendar number changes doesn't mean you have to set up goals you're not truly inspired by. Keep with the 25 by 25. And then adjust. Or adjust whenever you feel inspired to. It's not like you don't have anything set up yet! :)

I think this is a fabulous outlook! I don't want this year to be about striving to accomplish things. I want it to be about having FUN and enjoying life.

Amanda - I JUST wrote a post about 'being', specifically be happy to be. So crazy how some of us are so connected - mental telepathy I tell you.
Looking to watching you transform even more in 2013 and 'just be'.
