What a Weekend

K & I

The weekend was a blast! I can't wait to see J & K in just a few weeks for the annual ugly Christmas sweater party, but for now, I'll share how we spent our weekend.

Friday night as soon as they arrived we sat down to some homemade chipotle mac and cheese with some red wine. But when the wine ran out that didn't stop our evening. We headed to a couple local bars for some fun.

Saturday, we were all hungover, so besides taking Louie to the beach for a romp in the sand, we sat on the couch watching Law & Order: SVU before heading out for the day. We gave them a tour of my hometown before hopping on the train to go into NYC for the evening.

Being the crazy people that we were, we ventured into what M called "his nightmare" aka Rockefeller Center to see the tree. Unfortunately, there was people gridlock, literally. You couldn't move when trying to enter and leave the area. We still managed to get pictures in front of the tree though.

After escaping the gridlock, we went on an adventure taking a different subway line to get down to Little Italy. But when a "suspicious package" was mentioned over the load speaker along with the fact that they were waiting for the police, we exited and walked the rest of the way.

We picked Giovannas restaurant and sat upstairs. We shared some wine and each got something delicious. Although J's gnocchi was my favorite. After dinner we got mini cannolis then came home to watch The Campaign. (We were unbelievably exhausted from walking so much and the night before.)

Sunday morning we lounged around, had some pancakes before they hit the road. After they left, I fell asleep, along with Louie and M. The rest of the day was spent watching football and playing my new favorite game: Lep's World Plus a.k.a. Super Mario Brothers with a leprechaun.

I'm so glad that J & K came to visit. We always laugh a lot and have so much fun, but the best part is that it's so easy. Then again true friendships should be that easy. I chalk up most of it to M knowing them for so long, but to fill included in the group makes me really happy.

Thanks for visiting J & K! See you in two weeks!
