If you really knew me...

If you really knew me...

...you'd know that I cry at just about anything and everything. I cry for no reason sometimes. I cry watching Bachelor/Bachelorette. I cry when I'm so happy I could burst. I even cried while watching Batman. M judged me for that one.

...you'd know that the bed always has to be made, every day. And even when M makes it, I usually adjust the bedding or pillows to the way I like it.

...you'd know that sometimes I wish I was more of a hippie because of the relaxed side of the personality.

...you'd know how insecure I am when people call me "intense" or tell me to "calm down/relax." It's a characteristic I hate about me, but I need to accept it since I know that's just part of my passionate side.

...you'd know that I'm seriously afraid of being a terrible mother, not because I won't be able to love, but because I have a weak stomach/head and don't handle blood or injuries well (yes, I faint). And I'm the daughter of a nurse, so you'd think this wouldn't be such an issue.

...you'd know that I love to dance. I'm a terrible, no-rhythm dancer, but I love it.
circa 2008
What else do you want to know about me? What don't I really know about you?

Girl I cry about anything too. Deployment makes you resilient! Dancing is totally not my forte. Alone while getting dressed is where all the magic bobbing & weaving happens! Hah.

LOVE this Amanda!

So often, only a fraction of our personalities shine through on the blog so it's always great to know a little more about you. I should work on a post like this too, but I'd probably end up sounding too neurotic haha.

Love this post! I'm intense too-always feeling things too strongly-but I was told thats because we have too much love in our heart and thats something Im okay with. :)

Don't feel too bad about the irony of your intolerance for injury-nurse mother relationship. I knew a few meat department managers with vegetarian sons. I met a fellow who said he couldn't watch horror movies as a child, but ended up working for the morgue.

While deployment has toughened me up with the crying thing, I still have pity parties for myself. And when I have to drop my husband off at the airport for training/deployment, I'm the chick bawling at the security checkpoint.

i cry at everything too! and i hate it when people think im uptight, too... i am a super planner, and passionate as well. i just can't help it!

as far as being a good mother, i am SURE you have nothing to worry about. my momma has a super weak stomach and doesn't deal with all the messy stuff well, and i turned out pretty good, i think! haha. kidding. but seriously, im sure you will surprise yourself when it's your child and their in pain or sick!

I am a cryer too! It shows you have real emotions...which will make you a great mom.

Believe me, I hate needles, vomit and all that. But, instincts kick in and you just handle it.

Great picture!

I'm a cry baby too. I'm always so embarrassed when The Bachelor/Bachelorett finale gets me going.

I think you will be an amazing mom one day!

I am the same way about making our bed - if it's not made I cannot leave the house! My mom taught me that and it's somehow been rooted into my personality. Also weird thing about me - I rarely cry about real life/personal things... but movies, books, the Olympics - I'm a wreck!

That was a huge concern of mine about becoming a mother, too. I don't handle emergency situations that involve blood well. But you do what you have to do when it comes down to it.

I'm TERRIFIED of being a terrible mom! I really am!!
