March Detox

Oh hey Friday! It's the second day of March, which means we're getting closer to the big 2-4. And that also means I need to start working on this list of mine. I decided last week that I was going to do a March detox, aka "cut the crap." You see, I have a thing for sweets, if you didn't already notice. So for March, no more sweets.

I've decided to share this on the blog to keep myself accountable. I haven't decided to what extreme I'm going to be cutting out junk, but for now, it's just going to be candy, cookies, cake, cupcakes, sweets, ice cream, etc. You'd be shocked by how many "sweets" I can eat in a day without even noticing. I may go the extreme of no fried food or chips/snacks, but we'll see.

We'll find out at the end of March if I stuck to this... What do you do when you feel like you need to detox your body of some of the crap that you put in? And any fun plans this weekend? I'm just glad it's Friday, and M and I have some fun activities to do!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do much better at your 'cut the crap' effort than I would. Weight Watchers icecream candy bars are a staple in my freezer & I'm not sure I could really go without :)

man oh man it would be hard for me to cut out sweets! I've done it before for months at a time, but I just crave a little chocolate something every night, it would be so hard to give that up again! I have been thinking of cutting out something though... when it becomes spring I always feel like I want to do a body cleanse or detox... I'm going to have to think about it! IT"S FRIDAY! :)

I really love sweets to but now I don't buy them so over time my body has learned not to crave them. Don't get me wrong, I still will have some here and there. This week I actually bought a container of ice cream, I haven't bought one in about 6 months!

Such a wonderful idea! I do this from time to time too. I kick up my fruit and veggie intake when I start to feel myself slip, and also cut out sweets. I find eating as close to natural as possible helps make my body feel better! Best of luck, you can do it! Enjoy your Friday with M! And have a fabulous weekend!

sometimes I feel like I really need to step it up in the gym and make my workouts COUNT! Luckily I eat pretty healthy during the weeks but I usually let myself slide on the weekends so by Monday I am ready to hit the gym!

What a great idea, I try to limit sweets too because they tend to give me a headache and just make me feel cruddy in general!

When I'm trying to make a food improvement, I'll try not to snack too late at night, because that also sometimes makes me feel bad the next morning. Or the biggest ones for me is limiting my consumption of the food that patients' families bring in to work for the nurses/MDs to eat...because that can easily get out of hand!

Good for you! I think that's a great way to detox ... I eat a fairly healthy diet and don't eat that many sweets (usually).

I tend to bump up my protein intake when I feel sweet cravings come on and that helps me eat healthier.

Good luck cutting out sweets! I don't think I could ever do that!! :O

When I feel like I need to detox myself, I just try to drink heaps of water - that tends to help, or at least it feels like it does. :)
