Oh my goodness, you're going to have so much fun with your first 10k. I literally did my first 10k one year ago and it helped get me hooked on running!
You're going to do so well tonight on your 5k! There is a neighborhood 5k series in my neighborhood too and I REALLY wanted to do it this year but sadly I'm working nightshift on all three of the evenings. Oh well, maybe next year. But 5ks are GREAT for speed work and training for longer runs too.
